Last week I mentioned a scratchy throat. On Sunday night (8/20) my throat was so sore it felt like it was on fire. Over the course of the next several days the sore throat turned into nasal and chest congestion. I did not sleep very well. Finally on Friday (8/25) I went for an easy run. I do not think this cold set me back in my marathon training since my legs were able to rest.
The next two weeks are my last two tough weeks of training before I start my marathon taper. The scheduled long run of 21 miles on 9/10/06 will be very imporatant. If I am strong on this long run, it will be a great finish to my marathon training.
